Created by current NYU students, Ethan Matt’s new single “Slow Mo’” features a story of love, regret, and the conflicts that can arise after a breakup, both internally and publicly. Blending Indie and Psychedelic Rock, “Slow Mo’” is a dark, melodic Hip Hop track that draws comparisons to songs like ‘90210’ by Travis Scott. Tame Impala, Don Toliver, and Cage the Elephant largely influenced the soundscape of this track, which was co-produced and co-written by Ethan Matt and his classmates.
Ethan Matt’s experimental uses of vocal effects, electric bass, and gritty drum samples come together on “Slow Mo’,” the second track of his “strawbearE” debut EP. Additional vocals are provided by Sheryl’s Lips’ lead singer Dallas Wax, another Music Business graduate student at NYU. Ethan will debut “Slow Mo’” at his first headlining NYC show on 9/15 at The Delancey in Manhattan.
