evilgiane, the prolific Surf Gang producer, has just shared his new single “BASIC” featuring Anycia & Robb Bank$. The new release caps off a career-defining year for evilgiane, producing two of the biggest Hip-Hop songs of the year – ”The Hillbillies” by Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem nominated for “Best Rap Performance“ at the 2024 GRAMMY Awards as well as “Making the Band (Danity Kane)” by Earl Sweatshirt with both records making appearances in the Top 20 of Pitchfork’s ‘Best Songs of 2023’ feature. Both are clear-cut examples of evilgiane’s growing influence on the modern Hip-Hop soundscape, and his experimental production style that consistently forces some of the game’s most popular artists to step outside of their comfort zone. Co-produced by fellow Surf Gang producer HARRISON, evilgiane‘s new single “BASIC” sees the prolific South Florida underground rapper, Robb Bank$, and Atlanta upstart, Anycia, united over a chilled-out Detroit beat – futuristic and thumping, complete with haunting synths and a groovy drumline. Closing out his year with “BASIC”, evilgiane is giving us a glimpse into the eclectic world he’s building and giving fans a taste of what’s to come in 2024.
evilgiane’s other production credits throughout this year include recent collab tapes with 454, Matt Ox, Serane and John Glacier, as well as “Luv The Tour” off the deluxe version of Veeze’s critically-acclaimed debut album Ganger. As a foundational member of the Surf Gang collective, evilgiane continues to morph various internet subgenres and sounds into a consistently euphoric soundscape whose reach is only expanding.
