Kayo Da Don is an emerging New York recording artist with a fascinating style and trendsetting star power. After generating a buzz at this year’s SXSW, the Albany native takes a trip to the West Coast for a ballerific escapade in the release of the new song and new music video, “LAX” and “Ball On ‘Em” on Stack Boy Music Group.
“LAX” is a heavy-hitting track dripping with the flashy lifestyle vibes of jetting off to Los Angeles, giving listeners a glimpse into Kayo Da Don’s self-funded hustle and grind as an independent artist. On “Ball On ‘Em,” directed by Lin James, and produced by Tenzo Beatz, Kayo casually strolls the streets on a self-deserved shopping spree and VIP service at the local strip club. Both recorded at the Stack Boy studio in Albany, “Ball On ‘Em” was inspired by the annual NCAA basketball tournament, March Madness.
Venturing into music in 2020 following a brief incarceration, Kayo Da Don discovered newfound success with his breakout remakes for hit songs “Lemon Pepper,” “So Icy Boyz 2,” and “We Paid.” Kayo Da Don is best known for his Free Grams TV vlog and mixtape series, along with frequent music releases such as “Channel 10,” “Big Business,” “Wrist In The Trap,” “Makin’ It Hot” and more. Since 2020, Kayo has released two full-length albums, Live From The Kitchen and Free Grams.
“LAX” and “Ball On ‘Em” prepare fans for the artist’s upcoming album, currently untitled, set for late 2023. Until the forthcoming album, Kayo promises more new music on the horizon ahead of the anticipated release.
