After grinding for over a decade, the Cambridge, Massachusetts rapper Millyz has finally found his moment in the spotlight. Through his cutthroat lyricism, haunting imagery, and unceasing charisma, he has caught the attention of hip-hop heads and critics alike. In the 2010s, Millyz was selling mixtapes out of his car in hopes of making it big. It wasn’t until 2013 that he started catching serious attention for his mixtape Future Memories, which included a key verse from Jadakiss on “The Plug (Remix)“. For the next 10 years, Kiss would serve as a mentor for Millyz, guiding him through the complicated waters of modern-day hip-hop. He continued to make a name for himself for the next few years and started developing a real following after a standout freestyle at the BET Awards in 2016. He continued that run with a string of knockout freestyles on Funk Flex, Sway In The Morning, & Shade 45. Based on his pure ability on the mic, he started to gain the momentum he had been searching for his entire career. As his notoriety started to surge and he was developing a dedicated following, he dropped Blanco 3 in 2020 alongside artists like the legendary Jim Jones. In the past year, he has been lighting the internet on fire all year with standout freestyles on L.A. Leakers, Tim Westwood, The Come Up Show, and most recently Fire In The Booth. In 2021, things started to really heat up for him with the release of his last project Blanco 4 which featured Benny The Butcher, G Herbo, and Jadakiss. With the release of his most recent album Blanco 5, we saw the direct result of the endless hustle, skill, and finesse that Millyz has put into hip-hop for his entire career.
Massachusetts rapper Millyz has just shared his new single and visual for “YOYO”. Over plucking strings, pulsing bass, and skating snares courtesy of famed Jamaican producer Rvssian––Millyz manipulates the popular ‘UK drill’ style into a sound entirely its own. The visual for the track shows Millyz glimmering with ice, parading around Europe alongside a hoard of cash and an enclave of beautiful women. After catching the attention of mainstream tastemakers and developing a committed fanbase through his non-stop work ethic and dedication to hip-hop, Millyz is kicking off 2023 with his new single “YOYO”.
