Rapper Skazz was sentenced to probation Wednesday for assaulting his former girlfriend in a Pottsville home.
Skazz was originally charged with Simple Assault & Harassment but accepted a deal and pleaded guilty to second-degree assault at the Schuylkill County courthouse.
Skazz, whose legal name is Travis Jackson, faces a 5-year suspended prison sentence. He won’t have to go to prison on the charge as long as he completes 18 months of reduced probation.
“I apologize to everyone involved, and I’m hopeful we can all move forward,” he said.
Later on his Twitter feed, Skazz posted that the victim just wanted to get the case over with, and “that he gave his time to the state.”
The assault happened in 2022 when Skazz was in his suburban Pottsville home. The girl said the rapper attacked her after a argument, slapping her in the face and continued verbally harassing her even after she told him to stop, authorities said. The girl reported the attack to the police, investigators said.
Skazz has garnished thousands of streams, views and followers since 2014, and has incorporated his label Finesse Circle Worldwide as a LLC in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
