Rochester artist Rx Papi has just shared his new project, My Name Is My Name. Serving as a direct follow-up to March’s Dawg Storm, My Name Is My Name finds Rx Papi further cementing himself as a uniquely mystifying internet figure & a compellingly diverse emcee. Across My Name Is My Name’s 15 tracks, which include features from frequent collaborator RXK Nephew & Rsc Chapo, Papi is continuing to flaunt his improvisational yet revealing rapping style, allowing him to outwardly express his scattered thoughts over a diverse palette of beats. Rx Papi uses the daunting beat of the intro track, “W.A.N.W.” to set the tone by delivering an assertive & lively performance riddled with his erratic bars – “I’m in love with the new car smell / I don’t wear fake jewelry like Wallo / But I sold more dope than Wallo”, he raps through a hurried flow. While My Name Is My Name finds Rx Papi flexing his charismatic yet simultaneously poignant raps, he uses tracks like “I Told You Don’t Trust Me“ to showcase his more low-key, tight-knit bar work, while other songs like “Riccy Stole My Bike“ are used to demonstrate his more aggressive delivery & braggadocious raps. With the release of My Name Is My Name, Rx Papi’s second full-length of 2023, he’s proudly showcasing his robust diversity while cementing himself as an illustrious standout artist in the modern Hip-Hop scene.
