Quality Control signee SCY Jimm has just shared his new single “What You Make It” along with an accompanying music video. SCY Jimm garnered the stamp of approval from QC label boss Pee earlier this year when he was officially crowned with his QC pendant chain. The signing came as a direct result of Jimm’s breakthrough year in 2022 with the release of his heartfelt mixtape ROOKIE OF THE YEAR, on which he successfully united his state by collaborating with artists from different areas all across Florida to come together artistically on the project, highlighting his storytelling abilities and detailed bar work in the process. After kicking off 2023 with the release of his QC debut project Trench Baby, SCY Jimm has been contributing to his spirited string of singles that includes a healthy balance of boastful bangers like “Members In”, as well as introspective releases like the recently-released two-pack of singles, “In Too Deep” / “Wrecked the Cat”. Both are responses to his real-life experiences, released just a week after SCY Jimm was the victim of a targeted shooting in Daytona and not long after he crashed his newly gifted “Hellcat” from label boss Pee. On the new track “What You Make It”, SCY Jimm delivers a stream-of-consciousness performance as he works through tribulations and his continued focus on his career – “You can cut my legs off, I’m still gon’ have a run / Life is what you make it, you ain’t gotta fake it“, he raps through his signature icy demeanor. In the accompanying music video, Jimm is seen performing at Rolling Loud, linking up with On The Radar – a testament to his growing star power.
