Nathanial Perkins, better known as DJ Carolina X, is making history as the Carolina Panthers’ first Black gameday DJ. Moving from Columbia, South Carolina, to Charlotte, Perkins has stepped into a role that not only elevates his career but also contributes significantly to the cultural landscape of the NFL.
What started as a side gig ten years ago has blossomed into a remarkable career filled with opportunities. Perkins honed his DJing skills during his time at Benedict College, quickly becoming a sought-after talent in the region. Perkins’ rise to fame began in earnest in 2015 when a promoter offered him a chance to perform at a massive spring break event in Texas. His international gigs in places such as Bermuda and Japan further solidified his reputation as a versatile and skilled DJ.
