It seems as if Flavanoids has a new release every other week. They are probably one of the most consistent groups out there over the last little while. In 2024 alone they have dropped 12 singles.
Flavanoids started off the year with a single titled “Quest” featuring Canibus. They then released “Masters of the Universe” featuring Eternia. After that “Spark That” featuring Dan-e-o & Royce da 5’9 came out. A couple of weeks later they put out “Another Round” featuring JRO & Ill Tone. A little while later “Howl of the Beast” featuring Killah Priest & Swann was what was released. Then it was my favorite from them “Escape” featuring Righteous, DJ Mercilless and the teacher KRS ONE. They also came out with a dope video for the single as well! Before you know it they had another single called “No Matter” featuring Jaycen & Twista. “Stay Calm” featuring Theology 3 & Havoc was released next. A couple of weeks went by and boom!!! They had “Not the One featuring Insepectah Deck & Teeks on all platforms. Before you know it Flavanoids were back at it with “Forever” featuring Rhyme B & Xzibit. Not too long ago they came out with another of my favorites from them titled “Tilted” featuring Ghostface Killah & Unknown Mizery. More recently they dropped “Not Like…” featuring Papoose, Wasun & D.C.
“Not Like…” begins with Wasun introducing everyone featured on the track & D.C. giving a little sprinkle of what’s to come with the chorus. Dox Tha Doctrine sets it off & sets the tone of the track “On the mic I ain’t kiddin or playin around, I’m gonna hurt somebody” Pro- Logic comes right after sounding as smooth as ever “Pro still flows some, kick back smoke one. Loyalty to me proves respect & you get none!” D.C. makes an impact with a powerful chorus. “You ain’t me, you can never make it this far” The combination of chanting in between D.C.’s melodic vocals allow for this track to be unforgettable. After the chorus Wasun comes in and quotes Chuck D. He ends his verse by stating “Let’s take the culture back and never forget this, Hip Hop a way of life not gangsters and bitches.” Papoose ends off the track with a dope verse as expected. “You really need to watch how you talk, your mouth is greasy, and your toes are really being tagged up that’s not graffiti.” D.C. closes out the track and makes the listener want to press repeat.
I really enjoyed this track. A must listen! I can’t wait until Flavanoids drop an album.
