AL.XL, born in Clearwater, Florida, is making waves in the rap scene with his upcoming album XLERATOR, set to drop on Friday, October 4th. With roots in both Tallahassee and Tampa, the versatile artist moves between the two cities, crafting a sound that blends local influences with his unique creative flair. XLERATOR is set to be his most brash and experimental work yet, showcasing his growth and bold approach to music.
This album comes after AL.XL’s last full project, Central Processing, released in July 2022. Since then, he has stayed busy, dropping three singles this year: “Dope,” “Did U Miss Me?” and most recently, “Magician.” These tracks have built anticipation for XLERATOR, as they highlight AL.XL’s ability to blend high-energy beats with lyrical depth. All three singles will be featured on the new album, giving fans a taste of what’s to come.
A defining aspect of AL.XL’s artistry is his hands-on approach to production. Since 2019, he has been producing, mixing, and mastering all of his own music, giving him full creative control over his sound. On XLERATOR, AL.XL collaborates with longtime partner Hot Jamali, as well as fresh voices like LostMeh and KidWiz. These collaborations reflect his commitment to fostering relationships with other artists and expanding his musical reach.
AL.XL’s influences include Kraftwerk, Denzel Curry, and EL-P, an eclectic mix that helps shape his experimental sound. With these inspirations, he pushes the boundaries of hip-hop, merging electronic beats with raw, lyrical intensity. He believes in Florida’s potential to produce great artists and is determined to be the next name to bring the state the respect it deserves in the rap industry.
Looking ahead, AL.XL has plans to release a deluxe version of XLERATOR in the summer of 2025, ensuring that fans have plenty more to look forward to. With his unique sound and undeniable work ethic, AL.XL is poised to leave a lasting mark on the hip-hop world.
AL.XL’s new album XLERATOR is releasing on October 4th 2024.
