Alexander Oswald Mowbray, popularly known as Lecky, is a globally recognized Australian/Fijian artist specializing in rapping, singing, songwriting, and record production. After several years of freely sharing his music online, Lecky unveiled his second studio album, “Lovers 2 Enemies,” in November 2023 under the LeckyENT label. The album garnered both critical praise and commercial success, featuring notable singles such as “Love & Lust,” “Goku,” and “Volkanovski.” In February 2024, he released his third studio album, “Enemies 2 Lovers,” also through LeckyENT, which includes well-received tracks like “Secrets,” “24 Hours,” and “Minute Maid.” Additionally, he is a member of the Melbourne-based hip hop collective LeckyENT.
Born on November 8, 2002, in Melbourne, Australia, Mowbray has Fijian ancestry. Growing up in an Australian family with Fijian ties and two siblings, his childhood in Melbourne was fraught with challenges, including his father’s imprisonment, which resulted in his placement in a permanent home by the Department of Human Services. Mowbray’s musical journey commenced early; he learned to play the guitar from his brother and gradually developed skills in various instruments. He began crafting rap lyrics at the age of seven, and by fourteen, he had started producing beats, culminating in the release of his debut single on July 4, 2020. By the age of sixteen, he had already released his first song and continued to produce music diligently.
Lecky’s musical influences are rooted in the works of G-Unit, 50 Cent, and Eminem. He dedicated approximately four years to refining his production abilities prior to recording his own rap verses. Notably, Lecky is recognized for his proficiency in independently producing, mixing, mastering, engineering, writing, and performing the majority of his tracks. His musical style generally blends aspects of hip hop and R&B, characterized by a mixture of rap verses and melodic choruses.
