Bringing bars and old school swagger to his Memphis music, Tre Loaded is the next to blow out of Bluff City. Delivering on his immense promise, the 21-year-old artist shares LOADED, a 12-track mixtape full of unapologetic Southern rap bangers. Tre Loaded rhymes with a simmering intensity, stringing assonant syllables together with seemingly little effort and delivering quotables by the dozen. He fits his lockstep triplets between slinky piano lines and rattling trap percussion, his flexes piling up and sliding like an avalanche. The new mixtape is a showcase for the young artist’s burgeoning songwriting ability, which he demonstrates on new highlights like the sinister “Rick Owens,” the imperious “First Place,” and the reflective “Before The Deal.”
LOADED is home to singles like “Another Whip,” which has over 3.6 million streams across platforms and is picking up momentum on social platforms like TikTok and has charted in multiple cities on Shazam, including Atlanta and Dallas, as well as “Push Start,” another slinky single with a flashy music video to match.
Along with the mixtape, Tre Loaded shares the video for “Look Like Money,” a high-stepping banger from the project. Built over twinkling keyboard lines and thumping 808s, “Look Like Money” is an anthem for effortless flexing, as Tre paints a picture of his lavish lifestyle without raising his heart rate beyond a resting murmur. In the video, Tre Loaded travels to Miami for a luxurious afternoon on the water.
LOADED is the next rung on Tre’s ladder to success. Tre grew up in East Memphis surrounded by music, taking trips to the studio to listen to rappers like his uncle Don Trip. Tre started rhyming at age fifteen, inspired by his Memphis forebears and lyrical street rappers like Rod Wave and Ralo to turn the booth into his diary and turn rapping into his career. In early 2023, Tre first shared “Vo Flow,” a minimalist banger populated mostly by snapping fingers, low-note guitars, and Tre’s percussive voice, which eventually gained traction on social platforms like TikTok. The song has generated over 6 million streams across platform to date.
With much more music on deck and much further to rise, Tre Loaded is the next Tennessee upstart to know. Stay tuned and watch him elevate.
