GRAMMY-winning global superstar unleashes the official music video for “Breathe Me,” off her record-setting debut studio album, TYLA. The “Breathe Me” video, directed by Nabil, marks the fourth song off Tyla’s self-titled debut LP to receive a video feature since her breakthrough hit song “Water.”
The action picks up right where “Truth or Dare” left off, but this time Tyla and her whirlwind romance find themselves in a far less strenuous space—Osaka, Japan, to be exact. It’s the type of date night that seems almost too good to be true: tension and vibes both abundant, phones are down, adventure is up.
“Breathe Me” is the latest in a slew of videos and performances for Tyla, who has been a dominant force in the past year since the release of her mega-hit “Water.” Videos for fan favorites “Art” and “Jump” combine with “Truth or Dare” for 75 million YouTube views, while “Water” is set to compete for ‘Best R&B Video’ at this year’s MTV VMAs, airing this month. Earlier this year, Tyla’s Billboard 200 debut made her the highest-charting African female soloist in the chart’s history and garnered her two 2024 BET Awards including Best New Artist and Best International act.
Tyla surprised the 2024 Paris Olympics with a surprise performance at the Vogue x LVMH Prelude to the Olympics hosted by Pharrell Williams and Anna Wintour with the world’s biggest stars as onlookers, from ceremony co-host Serena Williams to attendees LeBron James and Zendaya. Vogue recalls the “unforgettable” nature of Tyla’s appearance, punctuated by a live performance of “Water.”
Next, she’ll take the stage at Brazil’s Rock in Rio Festival on September 20.
