Brooklyn rapper and songwriter JON’ is keeping nostalgia alive in the best way possible. His latest single “No Kissing”reimagines Chingy’s early-2000s hit “One Call Away” featuring Jason Weaver, flipping it into something smoother, sleeker, and ready for 2025.
Produced by Nino, the track pairs soulful hooks with modern production polish, blurring the line between hip-hop and R&B. “One of my favorite eras in music is the early 2000s, and one of the best songs of that era was Chingy’s ‘One Call Away,’” says JON’. “So I teamed up with producer Nino and was inspired to bring the hit record to 2025 but I wanted to still keep the authenticity of the original record.”
A short teaser for the single is already making rounds on https://www.instagram.com/reel/DQKPwETkR0H/ ,giving fans a glimpse of JON’s effortless charisma and visual style.
Beyond the music, JON’ is also a co-owner of 99 Wolves, an independent hip-hop imprint focused on amplifying new talent while staying rooted in authenticity.
“No Kissing” isn’t just a remix of the past, it’s proof that the 2000s sound still has room to evolve.
