American Clay, a mysterious, original and exciting new short film, is a must see for all movie enthusiasts. Since debuting at Edgartown during the Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival (MVAAFV), this film has reminded onlookers all across the United States of the importance of bringing truth based stories to Hollywood.
Backed by Saddlebrook Media and Hundreds Entertainment, American Clay is based in 1937 and follows the life of a mixed race 18 year-old who uncovers a harrowing family secret that she refuses to let divine her identity. Shedding light on the power of intuition, ancestral connection and divine intervention, the score to the film is just as impactful as the film itself.
Producer, co-creator and co-writer Vi City, masterfully crafted an impressive soundscape that further narrates the mythical and realness of the film, as it is based on true events. Bringing an innovative and refreshing energy to the film and music world, Vi City’s ability to create a soundtrack that single handedly identifies with the plot of the film, is the reason why this movie and soundtrack is necessary for consumption.
Having found success collaborating with Moneybagg Yo, Tee Grizzley, Lil Poppa, Sir Michael Rocks, Twista, and Da Internz Vi understands how much the music in a film plays a part in the overall experience of a film.
Directed by: Chris Jackson and written by Aviv Rubinstein and Vi City, the soundtrack features collaborators including vocalist Gabrielle Carreiro (formerly of June’s Diary), Vega Heartbreak, Mike Jay, violinist Alan of Black Violin, and Grammy-winning mix engineer Jaycen Joshua. Within 4 tracks, you can hear the pain, heartache, and ethereal ominous that ends in triumph and victory. You will not find anything out in the music universe quite like the American Clay EP.
As American Clay continues to infiltrate the lives and hearts of movie goers all across the world, be on the lookout as it may be available for screening in a city near you!
