Chicago showed up and showed out last night as G Herbo celebrated his 30th birthday in true hometown fashion. The platinum-selling rapper packed out Wintrust Arena on Saturday, October 26, for his first-ever Swerv & Friends 1st Annual Birthday Bash, transforming the venue into a full-on celebration of Chicago culture, music, and legacy.
Presented by 150 Dreamteam and BMN Entertainment in partnership with 107.5 WGCI, the night brought the city’s energy to life. Fans filled every seat, ready to honor one of Chicago’s most defining voices and witness a lineup stacked with heavy hitters.
The stage stayed hot all night long with performances from Queen Key, YK Niece, Hunxcho, Nardo Wick, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, 21 Savage, 42 Dugg, and Skilla Baby. G Herbo made sure his birthday felt bigger than a show, surprising the crowd with special guests including Meek Mill, Sexyy Redd, and Moneybagg Yo — each bringing their own fire to the stage and making it a night to remember.
One of the most heartfelt moments came when Herbo’s son, Yosohn — better known as Baby Crash — performed his debut single “Hit The Road Jack.” With only a handful of live performances under his belt, the crowd erupted proudly as the father-son moment unfolded under the arena lights.
Throughout the night, familiar faces from the music world and beyond were spotted in the crowd, including Tink, Gillie & Wallo, Rob49, and more, all there to show love and support for the Chicago native.
The Swerv & Friends Birthday Bash arrived at a pivotal time for G Herbo as he continues to tease his upcoming project Lil Herb. The highly anticipated release promises to take fans deeper into his story — from his roots on the East Side to his rise as one of hip-hop’s most consistent and honest voices.
Over the past decade, Herbo’s impact has only grown stronger with standout projects like Humble Beast, PTSD, Swervo, and 25, along with his 2022 double album Survivor’s Remorse, praised for its emotional honesty and depth. Despite the ups and downs that have shaped his career, last night proved that G Herbo’s bond with his city remains unshakable.
By the time the lights came up, Wintrust Arena felt like more than just a concert venue — it was a reflection of Chicago pride and resilience. From the lineup to the surprises to the love in the room, G Herbo’s 30th birthday celebration wasn’t just a show; it was a moment the city won’t forget.
