INDVGO Brings NYC Soul to a Lush, Jhené Aiko–Inspired Music Video

Koji‘s direction leans into her emotional performance, mirroring the contradictions of love she expresses with soft yet harsh, blurred yet focused visuals. At the two-minute mark, the tone pivots into self-acceptance as INDVGO steps into the city at night. She describes the video as being “about emotional chaos and finding peace within yourself,” and that “healing starts when you fall deeply in love with your own soul.”

Directed by Koji, the video tells the story of someone reclaiming power with softness. Decadent florals, warm, diffused lighting, and INDVGO’s reflections caught in glass and shadow mirror the tension between vulnerability and strength. Soft interiors are set against gloomy skylines, contrasted with intimate moments of connection, while recurring water imagery and shifting moods of longing and defiance evoke an internal world in flux.

At the 2-minute mark, the mood shifts, the beat drops and the softness gives way to something deeper. The scene transitions to INDVGO stepping out into the city streets at night, signaling her emergence into embodied self-acceptance. The track is a slow, transformative burn, influenced by iconic artists like Jhené Aiko and Summer Walker, with visual storytelling that recalls Kelela’s Enough for Love or SZA’s Good Days.
