On September 21st the last day of the summer Eastwick’s best artist Chance has dropped a brand new Ep/Mixtape called “If Not Now Then When” with 8 new never heard before records! The artist took a different approach on this project from the streets to storytelling to vibes that we never knew we needed.
Chance starts the mixtape with the first track talking about his city “Eastwick (Elizabeth, NJ)” called “In The Wick” talking about the streets of Eastwick out to Newark (Brick City) and his other city he claims Jersey City (Chilltown). From the first verse he claims: “908 to 718, find me in the wick!” From Eastwick to New York City he cracks down the rap bars talking about his cities he has been, then following into the number two track “Away From You” The song itself speaks how someone is attached to someone knowing their toxic but for some reason they find themselves back to the person.
Chance raps how they’re attached to him but he also cant get away. After the number three track “Are You Okay” takes a different approach. “Are You Okay” is mostly have you ever had someone friend, family or a relationship just call or see if your doing okay? This song resembles that feeling in every way. The interlude of the mixtape leads into the number four single called “Free Game” which Chance’s colleague GSkys talks how things will get better & the time wilI come which is inspiring. The number five single “Only You” Chance returns to his Hip-hop roots where he raps how only that one person in life knows you & only them no one else. “Only You” feels straight like a back in the day hip-hop feel that we all miss in this music game. Which the number six follows right up after called “MySelf” featuring one of Chance’s Wrdc label original members Nice.
Last time we seen a collaboration between Chance & Nice has been 9 years ago on the track “2016” one of the tracks in Chance’s mixtape “The Love Chapter” back in 2015, so to see these two team up again was very refreshing. The number seven track follows up called “If Not Now Then When”. The track itself has the same name as the mixtape but has a different approach which is “if you don’t take your chances now then when?”. The last single “TriX” Chance taps in one last time to his hip-hop roots with different rhythms, flows & amazing sounding to the whole track! The mixtape is available everywhere it isn’t to be missed!
