Savvy Sav, also known as “Young Savvy,” born in Houston, Texas, but moved to Los Angeles as a teenager, settling in the Crenshaw District. Repping the Crenshaw and Slauson area, his music draws notable comparisons to the late Nipsey Hussle not only because of their shared geography, but also their parallel experiences growing up in the streets and using music as a form of hustle and empowerment.
Blending West Coast vibes with Dirty South influences, Savvy Sav has created a unique sound that reflects his roots and travels. With five full-length albums under his belt, he’s currently working on his sixth studio project titled Streets of LA.
His latest single, “Hips Rocc” featuring SKG (Helecia Choyce), a fellow Crenshaw native and one of the few prominent female rappers from the area, is generating buzz. The track showcases Savvy’s evolving style and streetwise authenticity.
Savvy Sav is definitely an artist to watch — his sound represents the new wave for the streets.
