On Wednesday, March 28, Baton Rouge rapper YoungBoy Never Broke Again was officially granted clemency, joining a select group of eight individuals who received pardons, including former GOP Congressman Michael Grimm and reality TV personalities Todd and Julie Chrisley.
Following the announcement, YoungBoy expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity. “I want to thank President Trump for granting me a pardon and giving me the opportunity to keep building—as a man, as a father, and as an artist,” he shared on social media. “This moment means a lot. It opens the door to a future I’ve worked hard for and I am fully prepared to step into this.”
A heartfelt shoutout was also made to those who helped make the pardon possible. “Big thanks to the Pardon Czar, Ms. Alice Marie Johnson, for fighting for second chances for so many people, and to my lawyer, Brittany K. Barnett, for being in my corner and all your hard work to make this possible. And thank you to everyone who believed in me.”
YoungBoy’s clemency marks a turning point in his life and career, as he looks ahead to new opportunities and continues his journey with a renewed sense of purpose.
