With the speculation of current Penn State players being punished due to the NCAA sanctions, Penn State Football players are researching other options. Tim Buckley, Nittany Lions safety, is the first player to transfer. Tailback Silas Redd might be next. Penn State Football is falling apart as everyone obviously knows. Yet, the recruits are staying at the program to try to rally the community together. Over 50 players have confirmed their commitments as well as six prospects guaranteeing their arrival to the program.

Penn State Football lost Buckley to North Carolina State. He was expected to start practice Tuesday, which is also the team’s first practice with the Wolfpack. NC State finished the 2011 season 8-5 overall and 4-4 in the ACC. Penn State finished 9-4 overall and 6-2 in the Big Ten, will Buckley be better off? He will have four years of eligibility since he redshirted last season, he can start a whole new football career.

“The opportunity to come here and play at my state university, so close to home, was something that I couldn’t pass up,” Buckley said in the statement that made no mention of the scandal.
