After being released by the San Francisco 49ers earlier this Summer, NFL pro-bowler Aldon Smith has a new home. Linebacker Aldon Smith agreed to a one deal with the Oakland Raiders.
According to ESPN,
Talented but troubled linebacker Aldon Smith will get a chance to resurrect his NFL career in the Bay Area with the Oakland Raiders, who in a surprise move signed him to a one-year contract Friday.
Smith’s signing comes on the cusp of the regular season — and also on the same day he was charged with three misdemeanors — Oakland Raiders signed Smith to a one-year deal, the team announced.
Smith’s deal is worth up to $8 million with incentives, according to a source. The Raiders have been in need of a pass rusher and get a good one as they prepare for their opener Sunday at home against Cincinnati. Smith impressed coaches so much with his conditioning level at practice — he wore No. 99 — that he is expected to play Sunday unless the league intervenes, a source told ESPN’s Ed Werder.

Aldon Smith and Justin Tuck on the edge could make the Raiders a tough out on Sunday afternoons. The Raiders are hoping Smith will start for them this Sunday. Stay tuned to HHS1987 for all your sports news.
