We’ve been wondering what’s going on with Rozay & his major label situation since he released 2 albums in 2014, Mastermind and Hood Billionaire. Is Def Jam still backing the MMG bo$$?
Some talks were alluding to the notion that Ross released both albums within the same year to finish his contract with Def Jam, who housed 7 of his LP’s the far, but none of his recent works seem to have any involvement with the powerhouse. His recent mixtape Black Dollar as well as his latest loosie entitled Babies Cry appear to be released through MMG, but not Def Jam.
Today, all the speculations & guessing may come to an end. Earlier, Rozay posted a photo to Twitter of himself, Head of Urban A&R at Epic Records, Breyon Prescott and chairman and CEO of the label, L.A. Reid. The caption read “#EPICRECORDS” with the wandering eyes emoji, quickly antagonizing everyone that was tuned in. Is the big boss taking his empire over to Epic Records? Hopefully we’ll have concrete details that will confirm our theory soon..
