Sometimes what you mean isn’t exactly what you say. Point-proven with T.I. in his most recent turn of events during an interview on DJ Whoo Kid’s Shade 45 radio show last night. In his conversation with Whoo Kid politics became a topic of discussion, and Atl’s T.I. gave his opinion on voting a female into the head office of the United States which has put the rapper under serious scrutiny. Maybe Tip’s intentions weren’t to disrespect women, but the subject will always be a touchy one so you have to watch what you say.
Read his exact quote, then his almost immediate retraction after.
“Not to be sexist but, I can’t vote for the leader of the free world to be a woman… Every other position that exists, I think a woman could do, well. Every other position. But, the president? It’s kinda like, I just know that women make rash decisions, emotionally and later they make very permanent, cemented decisions and then later, it’s kind of like it didn’t happen or they didn’t mean for it to happen. And I sure you would hate to just set off a nuke.”
My comments about women running for president were unequivocally insensitive and wrong. I sincerely apologize to everyone I offended.
