Once Lakers point guard Steve Nash went down with a leg injury the Los Angeles Lakers reached out to former Golden State Warrior ,Orlando Magic and Washington Wizard star guard Gilbert Arenas who decided to turn the Lakers down for the time.
Arenas who has success playing for current Lakers assistant coach Eddie Jordan when he was the head coach for the Washington Wizards recommended the Lakers look at Arenas but Arenas would first prefer to turn his luck in China. Arenas is due $20 million for the Orlando Magic over the next 2 years so it’s clear money isn’t a problem. When asked why he wanted to play overseas Arenas replied ” I’ve played in the NBA for 12 years, I want to try something new.My friends told me this is a good league, it’s interesting.
Arenas left the Lakers option on the table telling Eddie Jordan “I’d Like to try china.Maybe after I play well in the CBA, I’ll consider the NBA.
