31-year-old Trayford Pellerin was shot multiple times while peacefully walking away from police.
The Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations has been approached by the Lafayette Police Department to explore the deadly shooting of Trayford Pellerin by one of their officials.
Pellerin, 31, was seen walking away from officers into a Shell service station when he was shot at multiple times and struck by gunfire on Friday (Aug. 21). He was articulated dead at the hospital. No officers were harmed.
The episode was gotten on record by Rikasha Montgomery, 18, who saw Pellerin walking away from six cops who were reacting to a call “involving a person armed with a knife.”
Louisiana State Police said Pellerin was walking as he left another corner store with a blade. The cops endeavor to utilize stun guns on Pellerin fizzled. By then, officers shot him multiple times as he left.
“When I heard the gunshots, I couldn’t hold my phone like I was first filming,” Montgomery told Lafayette Daily Advertiser. “I feel kind of scared about it. I’m traumatized. You’re so used to hearing about this, but I never thought I would experience it.”
As indicated by Globe-Gazette, Pellerin’s passing makes this Lafayette Police Department’s third shooting episode since mid-July. A protest was held on Saturday (Aug. 22) against LPD’s most recent police shooting.

“The officers involved should be fired immediately for their abhorrent and fatal actions,” Crump said.
