Milwaukee Native, Huey V drops new EP “As Above’ with verses full of poetic lyrical surprises and hard hitting trap beats. He describes his sound as “Trap Nuance,” creating a perfect balance of trap and conscious music. His recent video Persuasion has over 180k views and his latest video “PME (Protect My Energy)” sets the tone of what to expect from his album. From poetry to the streets, Huey V caught the attention of hip hop vet Memphis Bleek and he immediately signed him to Warehouse Music Group. As the lead general of the label, Huey V is setting up to become a major brand amongst the greats of his generation such as J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar. His melodic flow over the seven track EP was inspired by the death of a longtime friend and carrying on the passion of making music. With major features in HHS1987 and TheSource.com, Huey V gives a unique perspective in his new video “PME” about being in new surroundings and transitioning from small city living to the fast life in Miami. Songs such as “No Regrets,”Separation Anxiety,’ and “RIP BNG” give life to his journey as an artist. Directed by Chula the Don, PME displays candid and colorful shots that play a pivotal part in Huey’s lyrics leading you from beginning to end.
