All of us know that J. Cole is among the best rappers today and that holds true since a while. It was back in 2007 that he arrived by releasing his debut mixtape titled The Come Up, and all of us knew he was meant to be great. His second mixtape was The Warm Up, which further elevated him and his third mixtape, Friday Night Lights, guaranteed that he would be a star.
Hearing these mixtapes, it is easy to spot that he is hungry. After 14 years, five studio albums and three EP’s, he is back to release his sixth album The Off-Season.
As Cole has decided to move away from the rap game sooner than later, it is safe to state that The Off-Season is another crucial point in his career. Before he says goodbye to the mic, the North Carolina ensured that everyone knew about his checklist that he wishes to complete beforehand. This album will be the first among his last three projects to emerge.
He decided to announce his album’s arrival a week ago and when he tweeted: “Is this thing on?” fans went crazy. After that, he went on to announce the release of the album’s interlude, which further excited those who love him.
Prior to the release of The Off-Season, J. Cole released a documentary detailing where he explained how he got the idea for this album. In the documentary, people can also see Cole going back to his old home in Queens, New York City, while explaining how Pharrell inspired him to make music with a schedule.
