This recent expansion adds yet another string to Tribal Music Group’s bow.
Tribal Music Group has been taking the music world by storm since launching in 2019. This innovative collection of record labels are sponsoring new artists in the trap scene, breathing fresh life into everyone’s favorite subgenre of hip hop.
Founded in 2019 by Dutch entrepreneur Stan Wittenberg, the company quickly shot to fame by helping several prominent named artists get a foothold in the industry. Working with the likes of 2Scratch and Skan, they have marketed music videos, advertising for artists, and shared songs by their artists with their reported two million daily listeners.
But how did the biggest record label in trap music get its start in life? And how did they rise to such heights that they could acquire the Trap Music Movement and their <200K YouTube subscribers in just two short years?
An Amalgamation of Record Labels
Tribal Music Group has formed an amalgamation of record labels and creative outlets. Their founder first got interested in this type of music back in 2014 and set out to build Tribal Trap as a YouTube channel for the following few years. In 2019, the company partnered with and acquired other notable record labels, effectively doubling their 1 million cumulative followers to almost 2 million.
Some of those early acquisitions included Diverge Records, Clout.nu, Cruise Ctrl and F*ck Genres. These four teamed up with the Tribal Trap team make for an exciting mix of styles, branding, and possibilities. Collaboratively, they can put any newly signed act in front of 2 million viewers, expose them to a 750k Spotify following and a 150k Soundcloud following, and market directly to the consumer, bypassing the need for big studios to get involved with the music.
Tribal Trap has already made waves in its native land of The Netherlands. Working with EDM as their focus, they have become a real presence in the trap music network. They have expanded beyond being voted 5th biggest record label in The Netherlands to becoming Audiomack’s top emerging label of 2019. While the rest of us were licking our wounds in 2020, they spent it working hard. It is rumored that they grew as much as 60% during the year when most of us were shutting up shop.
“During this volatile period in the music scene where we’ve seen an explosion in the number of independent music labels, Tribal Trap seems to have risen above the rest by consistently putting out powerful and deadly tunes. Recognized as one of the main channels that pioneered the Trap genre, any producer would be delighted to have a notch on their belt from the outlet.” (thewaxhole.com)
Partnering with the Trap Music Movement
The Trap Music Movement is set to become the most recent brand associated with the Tribal Trap label. Incorporating itself into the music group, Trap Music Movement brings some 195k followers of their own to the party… and what a party it is turning out to be.
