French Montana, A Boogie, Remy Ma, Dream Doll, Slick Rick, B-Lovee, Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson & More Slated to Participate in The Bronx Native’s Fundraising Efforts
Today, Grammy-nominated recording artist, entrepreneur, and philanthropist Fat Joe announced plans to take over HOT97 and WBLS’s respective radio stations on Jan. 22 and host a day-long fundraiser for the families impacted by the tragic Bronx apartment fire at Twin Parks North-West.
Between 10 am ET and 7 pm ET, Joe will be on the airways and corralling his star-studded friends, such as French Montana, A Boogie, Remy Ma, Dream Doll, Slick Rick, B-Lovee, Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson, and Jeff Redd, to appear on the program and help raise additional funds for victims and their families.
“I’d like to express my appreciation for my family at HOT97, WBLS, and all my friends that are supporting this fundraising effort,” Joe said. “It’s critical that we continue to come together and uplift our Bronx brothers and sisters who are suffering physically, mentally, and emotionally from this tragedy.”
The announcement comes after Joe initially teamed up with the New York City Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City on Jan. 11 to create the Bronx Relief Fund to raise money for those in need, especially after the deadly fire left 17 dead and dozens more injured and displaced.
Beyond making his own donation, the Bronx native secured contributions from friends like Shawn “JAY-Z” Carter, Jack Dorsey, DJ Khaled, Nas, LL Cool J, etc. as well as brands like White Castle. Within 24 hours of launching the fund, Joe helped raise over $1 million.
