Few producers have gotten to the superstar status that Bryan Michael has ascended to, but don’t think that it was an easy road for the Chicago beatsmith and recording artist. He worked for years on his sound, making his way up the ladder of the music industry to the point that he’s at right now, and when looking at his accolades, there is nothing you can do but applaud his achievements.
After working with everyone from G-Eazy to Ludacris and being associated with 25 RIAA-certified plaques for songs, Bryan Chicago is nothing short of a bona fide superstar, and that means that every single song he touches is an absolutely essential listen without a doubt.
In order to celebrate his new solo career in a big way, Bryan Michael released a teaser EP titled “Yahoo Boy”, and if what they say is true about history repeating itself, this project is already cementing a stance within the Chicago Hiphop Scene. Instrumentally, he includes a very serene, smooth melody that collides with crashing percussion and punchy drums, giving the emcee a simple enough foundation to shine while also keeping it awesome enough to not let any artist steal his thunder.
Reminiscing on his early days, Bryan shares his elementary studio gear and process from where it all started he adds
“The first software I ever bought was FL Studio (I did actually buy it). I use Ableton now. I didn’t have any equipment. Once I started making some money, I bought a machine mikro and a pair of Rokit 8’s.
That was my setup nothing too complicated. But you really don’t need any of that. Most of my production has become super mobile. I only use my laptop, and my headphones (audio Technica m50x).
The main thing I’d recommend for aspiring producers though, at any stage, is to train to hear for the kind of sound you want to create.”
Now that he’s levelled up immensely and established a robust network and plethora of artists and creatives, he continues to fortify his sound and prominence within the Chicago Hiphop and nightlife scene.
Bryan Michael is smooth keeping his carefree, confident demeanour going strong even with a somewhat quick tempo, taking command of things himself rather than being forced in a direction he isn’t meant to go in. This fast-rising talent is never going to fall off as long as the music is still being made.
