David Daxsen’s ecuadorian company Daxsen Music Group, has achieved strong relations with companies such as Sony Music Entertainment, Warner Music Group and Universal Music Group.
He got involved in this world of entertainment at the age of 14. “I saw a source of business in something that I was passionate about and along with that I think I had an economic need that I combined with a vision of achieving something”
“I started at a time when people didn’t know much about digital platforms globally. We started to work very hard in Mexico, we were one of the first electronic music labels there; In fact, we were the first commercial electronic music label in Ecuador and we were one of the first electronic music labels in Mexico, so much so that in Mexico they thought we were a Mexican label…”
In February 2010, Daxsen Music Group began its path, hand in hand with David Daxsen, alone and with its own investment. At that time as a music producer and DJ project, and to make his premieres he needed a label, a record label, for which he founded Daxsen Records, from where he released his music and that of other colleagues and friends. .
“Little by little, the Daxsen Records record label began to acquire more labels, from there I bought labels from other countries, from Germany, from the United States, from Mexico, and this Daxsen Records began to really become what Daxsen Music Group is. Today we are 47 record labels that we have been acquiring some and have founded others in the course of these eleven years”, he explains.
“I also think that something fundamental has been that I have spent a lot of time in the United States, Miami and New York, which being in the entertainment environment there helped me a lot to be able to interact with executives of that level,” he adds.
The work between the multinationals and the Daxsen Music Group, according to David Daxsen, is by singles. “They are asked for a license, a permit to work with artists from these record companies, for example, as it has been with Juanes, who released a song called One Earth on one of our record companies. In this case, Universal is being asked for a license so that Juanes can collaborate on a release for an independent record label,” says Sánchez, who is also the general commercial director of the Samborondón Chamber of Commerce and a member of the main board of directors.
Another way, says the Ecuadorian, is by content distribution, which is the case with Sony. “In other words, they are the distribution platform for it to reach digital platforms, among other things, that support social networks, Spotify playlists and others,” he says.
In addition to Juanes, the record group has releases with artists such as Flo Rida, Justin Quiles, and the Legends album along with Steve Aoki, Afrojack Tiesto, Hardwell, among others, releasing under the Daxsen label name.
Through Daxsen Media International, an Ecuadorian marketing agency that is also under his command, he provides services to national and international companies. They have done marketing campaigns for artists like Wiz Khalifa and various top international figures.
