Producer,songwriter,artist(Triple Threat),Y.A. the Gator started making beats at age 15 on a karaoke machine. Around the same time,he started writing rhymes and became an artist. Years later he and cousin Damario Ford(King Mario) formed a group called Hunnid Proof. Sometime after, two other artists linked up with them to become Anotha Planet. With DOPE tracks from Y.A.,creative songwriting, and cross-over appeal as a collective,Anotha Planet landed a deal. The deal was brokered by industry vet/manager at the time Horace Weathers. They were signed by Platinum Producer Andrew Lane to his label DREW RIGHT MUSIC( Lanes’ client list has sold over 40 million records worldwide). Due to industry ” politics” Anotha Planet were released from that situation. Enter 2023, Y.A. the Gator has independently released the single DANCE! With assistance from Peezy Tech Music A&R “Fly Shy” Boyd on marketing, the song is starting to “grow legs” and gain momentum. When asked why independent,he clearly states, ” NO industry politics, I can release music whenever and with my business being set up properly,MORE MONEY.
