E-40 announced the release of his new single “Bands,” which is available to stream on all platforms via Heavy On The Grind Entertainment and will appear on his upcoming new album. With “Bands,” E-40 delivers a double entendre-themed song that celebrates his counterparts that boast bands of money and simultaneously pays homage to the band-heavy beat – produced by DJ TOOMP – as part of the energetic anthem.
As part of the release, E-40 drops the corresponding visual for “Bands” with a range of clips of celebrities flexing with banded cash such as Floyd Mayweather, Future, Lil Baby, 50 Cent, Meek Mill, Offset, Gucci Mane, Lil Durk, Moneybagg Yo, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Kodak Black and many more. The Bay Area native also filmed the music video in February at his alma mater Grambling State University and alongside the university’s marching band.
During his time on campus, E-40 also made a philanthropic donation of $100,000 to Grambling to bolster the university’s marching band and help with the installation of a recording studio, so aspiring student musicians could follow their dreams like he once did. The university returned the favor by surprising the mogul by naming the studio in his honor as the “Earl ‘E-40’ Stevens Sound Recording Studio.”
The new single comes shortly after E-40 unveiled his new vodka brand – Tycoon Vodka – which is named after his song “Tycoon,” . It also serves as the latest addition to E-40’s massive wine and spirits portfolio that includes over 15 different still and sparkling wine offerings under his “Earl Stevens Selections” line, a tequila (E. Cuarenta Tequila), a cognac (Tycoon Cognac), a bourbon (Kuiper Belt Bourbon), a gin (Kuiper Belt Gin), a variety of pre-mixed cocktails (Sluricane) and a golden lager beer (E. Cuarenta Cerveza) with more to come.
It caps an action-packed first quarter of 2023 for E-40, who kicked off the calendar year by attending The White House, meeting Vice President Kamala Harris and honoring the Golden State Warriors for winning the 2022 NBA championship.
