How Did Your Early Life Influence Your Interest in Music?
The formative years of my life played a crucial role in shaping my deep-rooted interest in music. My aunt Karen exposed me to a diverse range of musical genres, including soulful R&B and captivating jazz, which captivated my senses and sparked a fire within me.
During my early education, from fourth grade until the eighth grade, I had the opportunity to learn and play the tenor saxophone. This experience helped me develop an understanding of musical composition and an appreciation for the beauty of harmonies and melodies. In high school, I discovered hip-hop and was introduced to the incredible musical stylings of Wu-Tang Clan, which became a pivotal moment, fueling my passion for creating rap music.
Who Is Your Greatest Musical Influence?
Pinpointing just one musical influence is challenging for me as I find inspiration in various genres. Music itself is my muse, and it inspires me in countless ways. From soulful ballads to energetic hip-hop beats, I draw influence from the diverse array of artists and sounds that permeate our world.

At this stage of my music career, I believe my defining moment is yet to come. I am continually evolving as an artist, refining my skills, and exploring new avenues of creativity. Each step I take brings me closer to that defining moment where my music will leave an indelible mark on the world.

What makes me unique as an artist is my ability to infuse my genuine self into every aspect of my music. How Did You Choose Your Stage Name?
Crafting my stage name was a personal and intentional process. Taking inspiration from one of my favorite actors, Chris Penn, I recognized the significance of the pen as a tool for writing and self-expression. Combining these elements, I settled on the stage name “Chris Pen” as a representation of my passion for both acting and music.
