As a child DeDe Lopez listened a lot to rap music and especially female rappers such as Salt N’ Pepa, MC Lyte, Queen Latifah, Foxy Brown and others. But it was thanks to the song “Push it” and Salt N’ Pepa from 1986 that DeDe took the step to start rapping, then only 14 years old. She was one of the first female rappers in Sweden.
It’s the first time DeDe herself does a cover and is a tribute to Salt N’ Pepa for having inspired her. She asked the Swedish producer La Rush for a collaboration on this track. “LA Rush” is a Swedish music producer, DJ, remixer, songwriter, and a weekly radio host with” LA Rush in The Mix”, airing on several radio stations in the UK, the US and in Sweden.

DeDe Lopez has a successful career as a singer/songwriter with more than 500 000 albums sold. She has toured the world and has sold out Tokyo Dome in Japan twice!
She was the only Swedish artist to open up for Michael Jackson in Gothenburg, Sweden and was opening act to 50 Cent in Helsinki, Finland.
She has worked with prominent producers and song writers such as Max Martin, Andreas Carlsson, Per Magnusson, David Kreuger, Anders Bagge, Derek Bramble (David Bowie & Whitney Houston), Herbie Crichlow and Michael Feiner among others.
In august of 2007 she teamed up with Grammy-winning recording artist Pras (The Fugees) and released” Turn you on”, layered with her sassy vocals and Pras Michel’s signature fluid rap style. Turn you on is written and produced by Pras Michel. After nine weeks on the Swedish single chart,” Turn you on” went No.2.
In 2018 she released” Dare to change the world” feat hip-hop queen Mc Lyte, written by DeDe Lopez and Mc Lyte. Produced by DeDe herself. The song topped many countries around the globe and #5 on UStop20 (2018).
