Doodie Lo is one the realest rappers in the Midwest and now he shares What Made Me, his introspective new album.
Across the project’s 16 tracks, the Kankakee, IL rapper dives deep into the moments that have defined his life, starting with thought-provoking opening track “6 Figures.” Throughout the rest of the project, Doodie’s vulnerability is evident, whether he’s telling street stories on tracks like “Sumn New,” and “The Kankakee Story,” reflecting on how far he’s come on “Livin My Dreams”. The raspy-voiced rapper closes the project with arguably his most revealing tracks to date.
Complete with additional guest appearances from Mozzy, Icewear Vezzo, Fredo Bang, and more, What Made Me is out now via Only the Family/EMPIRE.
Along with the album, Doodie shares the video for “Glock’d In” ft. Mozzy, a highlight track from What Made Me. In the video, Doodie and his crew link up with Mozzy at a stylish mansion, rapping about their untouchable status.
What Made Me is the follow up to Doodie Lo’s acclaimed 2021 debut Big Doodie Lo. The Lil Durk co-signed rapper made a big impression with his debut, which is home to “Me & Doodie Lo,” an energetic collab between King Von and Doodie (24 million YouTube views), in which the legendary O-Block native gives Mr. Kankakee an enthusiastic co-sign. Over the past few years, Doodie Lo has considerably grown his profile, racking up over 80 million streams to date, gaining hundreds of thousands of YouTube subscribers and Spotify Monthly Listeners, and collaborating with heavy hitters like Kodak Black, Moneybagg Yo, Pooh Shiesty, and more. Since dropping his debut album, Doodie Lo kept the streets hot with loose singles like “Popeyes” ft. Icewear Vezzo & Deeski, “Smurkio Flow,” “Play With My Name,” and “Daddies Babies.”
With What Made Me out now, Doodie Lo is ready to claim the midwest street rap throne.
