It’s like completing a promise you made to yourself when you were younger,” Peso says. “I KNOW the impact will be great!”
The creative process for “Mortified” began in the studio, with Peso and a local videographer who caught the song’s vibe instantly. “We wanted to show that it doesn’t matter how many people you’re around, whether it’s 1 person or 1,000, you’re still by yourself in a way,” Peso explains. This introspective theme is at the heart of the video, mirroring the song’s raw emotions and Peso’s journey.
“Choppa Kid Choppa Life”: A Debut Album with Range
Peso’s debut album, “Choppa Kid Choppa Life”, dropped on July 9th and has quickly made waves, showcasing his versatility and artistic depth. “This has to be one of the BEST pieces of art I’ve dropped,” Peso says. “My versatility and range are what’s shocking a lot of people. You hear one song like ‘Mortified,’ and then it skips to a harder sound like ‘EMT.’”
For Peso, this album is just the beginning. “I have MANY more to come!” he says, hinting at even more music and continued growth as an artist.
The Stories Behind “F.Y.R.” and “Simon Says”
The album features standout tracks like “F.Y.R.” and “Simon Says,” each with a unique vibe and story. Peso shares that “F.Y.R.” (short for “Fuck You Right”) immediately took him back to the music he grew up with on BET. “I really wanted to make something for all the beautiful women in the world,” Peso says.
On the other hand, “Simon Says” gave him a chance to show a different side of himself. “I believe this song resonates with a lot of people because we’ve all had someone turn their back on us,” Peso explains. “That raw, real feeling is something you HAVE to relate to in some way.”
Reflecting on His Promo Tour
As he promotes his album, Peso has been traveling across cities, performing and connecting with fans. “My tour has been amazing—from the experiences, relationships, and environments, it’s exactly what I said in one of my songs, ‘Out of all the different places I’ve been, different faces I’ve seen. I’d probably do this all again instead of making a league,’” he shares.
For Peso, touring is about creating genuine connections with fans, saying, “The best way to connect to an audience is to connect with the ones that connect to you.”

If more people engage with my music, it’ll speak for itself and make its own statement in this industry,” he says confidently.

Peso has a long list of artists he’d love to work with, both legends and current chart-toppers. His dream list includes Three 6 Mafia, Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz, DJ Khaled, Gucci Mane, T.I., T-Pain, Daddy Yankee, and new wave artists like Future, El Alfa, Donaty, Drake, Cardi B, GloRilla, Eladio Carrion, Young Thug, and Lil Durk. “I can go on and on,” Peso adds, showing his passion for collaborating across genres and styles.
Advice for Emerging Artists
For upcoming artists looking to make their mark, Peso emphasizes the importance of faith and persistence. “First, you NEED God. Stay prayed up—when you don’t have answers, He will,” he advises. He also stresses the importance of surrounding yourself with a strong support system. “Keep a strong foundation or support team around you, whether it’s family or close friends. Stay consistent, make smart decisions, and MAKE it happen. It doesn’t matter when it will happen—all that matters is that you KNOW it will happen.”
