From Brooklyn Roots to Industry Legend
Ephraim “Fetti” Benton was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York—the oldest of seven siblings and a natural-born leader. His upbringing instilled the hustle, vision, and resilience that now defines his legacy in film and television. With over 30 years in the entertainment industry, Benton has carved out a name as a multi-hyphenate force: actor, producer, writer, and casting director. Together with longtime partner Shawn Lindsey, he helms both Skeemaholic Society and MoFetti Group, using them as platforms to tell stories that are unapologetically real, raw, and rooted in community.
Authentic Storytelling that Hits Home
Benton’s commitment to authenticity is perhaps best captured in his most recent film, “Bloody Money.” Directed by Brigid Turner, the gritty drama premiered on Amazon Prime, Spectrum, and Fandango Home, quickly gaining buzz and leaving audiences begging for a sequel. While “Dope King” awaits its official release date, it’s already building anticipation as another bold addition to Benton’s catalog of socially grounded, character-driven narratives.
Streaming Success with ‘Bottom Bitch’
Benton’s co-produced series “Bottom Bitch”, written and directed by Joseph C. Grant Jr., made its Tubi debut last month—and has remained a top performer in the Drama, Storytelling, and Most Popular categories ever since. Set in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn in 1968, the series follows 15-year-old Nicole “Foxy” Greene, who is thrown into the harsh world of prostitution by her drug-addicted father just days before Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination. It’s a gripping, emotionally charged narrative that showcases the kind of fearless storytelling Ephraim champions.
Independent Projects & Industry Impact
Never one to slow down, Benton is currently co-producing “Mack and the Squatter,” a timely indie film written and directed by Derrick Pridgen. The story follows a young artist who returns home after her mother’s passing—only to battle a manipulative squatter trying to steal her family house using squatter’s rights laws. Benton makes a cameo appearance and lends his expertise behind the scenes. He also produced a stand-up comedy special, “Code Switch”, starring Ohene Cornelius from Harlem River Yacht Club. The one-man show will be available soon via Vimeo On-Demand.
Award-Winning Series & Festival-Bound Films
This spring, Ephraim debuted his multi-award-winning series “HER: Micro-Series” on FOX SOUL TV, adding another notch to his belt as a creator who excels in both long-form and short-form storytelling. He also stars in “The Fall,” a short psychological thriller film alongside rapper Conway The Machine, produced by Chop N Shoot Films, which is gearing up for the film festival circuit.
Community First: Giving Back to Brooklyn
Beyond his accolades and screen credits, Benton remains deeply committed to uplifting the neighborhood that raised him. Through his non-profit organization, he mentors emerging creatives, provides resources, and creates opportunities for underrepresented voices in film.
Legacy in Motion
Ephraim Benton’s mission isn’t just to entertain—it’s to inspire, represent, and elevate. With every project, he proves that authenticity still has a place in Hollywood—and that stories from the block can still change the world. His journey is far from over. In fact, it feels like he’s just getting started.
