Jerrold Leak, known as Eco, is a chef, entrepreneur, and recording artist from Pittsboro, North Carolina. A true country boy at heart, he was raised with a grounded work ethic and an unshakable drive to turn ambition into opportunity. That mindset carried him from dishwasher to executive breakfast chef in just two months, later expanding into entrepreneurship as the owner of a thriving landscaping company.
Music soon became his next calling. With the support of his cousin, producer/engineer Skinny Khris, Eco spent countless late nights in the studio sharpening his sound. Their first release, “Dawg,” marked the beginning of a relentless grind that would eventually land him on stages alongside major artists like Lil Boosie, Lil Baby, Gunna, Latto, 42 Dugg, and T-Rell.
As his artistry grew, Eco caught the attention of A&R for 930 Certified Ent. Silas, who recognized his natural skill, raw knowledge, and determination. With guidance and persistence, Eco continues to refine his craft, balancing the same grit and focus that fuel his business and culinary career.
Eco’s talents soon reached beyond music. Black Label Films approached him with the opportunity to expand into acting, casting him in his first movie, “Screaming Mama,” a powerful and emotional story addressing Black-on-Black crime and police brutality. His standout performance earned him another role in “Prelude,” a gripping film about brothers who bring a dangerous drug back to America.
More than just an artist, Eco embodies resilience, authenticity, and the spirit of a country boy who turned vision into reality.
