West Coast rapper SKG and hip-hop legend Cold 187um made a standout appearance on the red carpet for the premiere of Higher Power, a new Chicano-centered film directed by Anthony “Cisco” Viramontes. The Detroit debut has already been hailed as a rising classic within Chicano cinema.

The film brings together a powerhouse ensemble, including Cold 187um, Omar Gooding, Mr. Homicide, Pete Vásquez, Angel Salazar, and Panchito Gómez. Featuring talent from iconic films like Blood In Blood Out, Mi Vida Loca, Scarface, Colors, and American Me, Higher Power weaves an explosive story rooted in loyalty, hardship, and spiritual purpose.

SKG (Helecia Choyce) attended the premiere in support of Cold 187um—her longtime friend and former Death Row Records label mate. The two reunited on the red carpet, celebrating not only their shared history but also a film that pays homage to culture, community, and storytelling.
