Independent rapper Matthew Hunter Stotz, professionally known as M-Hunt, has officially released his new EP, Future History, a five-track project that captures a more reflective, self-aware, and emotionally complex chapter in his career.
Before its release, Future History had already begun building serious momentum, climbing to #8 on the iTunes Hip-Hop Pre-Order charts — matching the same peak reached by M-Hunt’s previous charting project, You Wouldn’t Understand. For an independent artist operating without major-label backing, that kind of early movement speaks to the loyalty of his fanbase and the growing attention surrounding his name.
The EP finds M-Hunt exploring the feeling of finally finding a place for himself, while also questioning what comes next. Across the project, he touches on success, pressure, indecision, love, heartbreak, mania, happiness, overwhelm, and personal growth. Rather than presenting a one-dimensional victory lap, Future History feels like an honest look at what happens after an artist starts gaining traction and has to face the emotional weight that comes with momentum.
The project includes five tracks:
“Vent”
“All The Smoke” featuring BAIN!
“Stay Quiet”
“Tell Me”
“Goodbye”
The rollout began in February with the release of “Stay Quiet,” a track that helped build anticipation for the full EP while further establishing M-Hunt as a legitimate lyricist in the underground hip-hop space. The single later received a major co-sign from legendary producer Zaytoven, who reposted the track on Instagram and helped bring additional attention to M-Hunt’s growing movement.
That recognition added another layer to a rollout already rooted in authenticity. M-Hunt has steadily built his audience through emotionally driven songwriting, layered rhyme structures, and raw honesty. His music often feels personal without becoming overly polished or distant, allowing listeners to connect with the real thoughts and struggles behind the records.
With Future History, M-Hunt delivers a project that feels both introspective and forward-facing. The title itself carries weight, suggesting an artist looking at his past, understanding his present, and trying to shape what comes next. It is a release about growth, but also about the uncertainty that can come with finally reaching a new level.
By matching the chart performance of You Wouldn’t Understand before its official release and now arriving in full, Future History stands as one of M-Hunt’s most important independent releases to date. It shows an artist continuing to sharpen his voice, expand his audience, and prove that his momentum is no accident.
With this EP now out, M-Hunt is making it clear that he is not just chasing a moment. He is building a story — and Future History may be one of the strongest chapters yet.
