Texas singer-songwriter CALLA has been surrounded by music for most of her life. Growing up just outside Houston, she was introduced to everything from rock and country to gospel and dance music, which helped shape her sound today. Along with singing and songwriting, she spent years competing in hip-hop dance before moving to Nashville to pursue music full-time. Fans may recognize her from Season 24 of The Voice, where she competed on Gwen Stefani’s team. Since then, she has continued building her career, signing a publishing deal with Made In Memphis Entertainment and developing her own blend of pop and R&B.
CALLA is back with the music video for “Halfway,” the lead single from her upcoming EP, Between 10PM & 4. Inspired by a past relationship, the song came about after an ex released music sharing his perspective on their time together. CALLA decided it was time to tell her side of the story. The track touches on the frustration of being caught between casual dating and a serious relationship, while also recognizing when it’s time to expect more from someone. With its personal message and confident attitude, “Halfway” offers an early look at what CALLA has in store for her next project.
