NFC-South 2012 NFC South Preview and Predictions

Now we have the NFC South. Here are my predictions from worst to first.

bucs-150x150 2012 NFC South Preview and Predictions

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2011:  4-12  2012:8-8)
With new head Coach Greg Schiano running the show I expects the Bucs to be much better but still fall short in what is the SEC of the NFL. Tampa QB Josh Freeman is lookin to take that leap with receivers Vincent Jackson and Mike Williams. Rookie running back  Doug Martin and sophomore running back LeGarrette Blount must produce out the back field to open up the passing game. Tampa good but not great defense will need to step up and be ready to lead. Tampa needs a huge year from Defensive tackle Gerald McCoy and veteran Ronde Barber.

Key Additions: Vincent Jackson, Doug Martin, Dallas Clark

Key Loses: Kellen Winslow

Atlanta Falcons (2011:  10-6   2012: 9-7)
The Falcons continue to show me nothing in believe they will get over the hump. On paper the dirty birds are one of the NFL’s most talented teams but can’t get over the hump. Now that Matt Ryan and Julio Jones have had more time to work out watch out for them.  With Roddy White being just as skilled defensive can’t double team either. With a new offensive and defensive philosophy in place head coach Mike Smith better product or face the hot seat.

Key Additions: Asante Samuel

Key Losses: None

Panthers-150x150 2012 NFC South Preview and Predictions

Carolina Panthers (2011:   6-10   2012: 10-6)
After a sensational rookie campaign QB Cam Newton is set to lead his team into the postseason. Carolina’s hard nosed defensive was haunted by Injuried last year but with the return of Jon Beason,  Ron Edwards and Thomas Davis I look for Head Coach Ron Rivera to have those men ready for combat. Carolina features two great running backs in DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart who I see both having over 800 yards rushing.  If the Panthers start hot, look out.

Key Additions: Joe Adams

Key Losses: Jeremy Shockey

Saints-150x137 2012 NFC South Preview and Predictions

New Orleans Saints (2011:13-3   2012: 11-5)
There has been much surrounding the Saints and the bounty scandal that has haunted this team since the beginning of the off season. After a drawn out process Saints QB Drew Bress received a big deal and is ready to start the new season.  With all the problems surrounding the Saints and the suspensions the team will face I see that as being fuel to the fire. This years Super Bowl is in New Orleans.  Can the Saints be the first team to host a Super Bowl and play in it?
