Tonight the San Francisco 49ers host the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday night football on the NFL network.
The 49ers (4-2) and the Seahawks (3-3) both enter tonights game fighting for first place in the NFC West. The 49ers were preseason favorites to win the Super Bowl this year and have looked good so far but coming off of a beating handed to them by the New York Giants the 49ers certainly have something to prove.
The Seahawks have surprised many so called expects with their top 5 defense and with the performance of rookie quarterback Russell Wilson who has stepped into the starting job and has beat Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers and Tony Romo respectively. The Seahawks are a young and hungry team with much to prove as well but tonight may not be their night.
The 49ers were embarrassed last week against the Giants and I expect Seattle to suffer for that. Look for the niners to try to confuse Russell Wilson blitzing over and over and holding the Seahawks offense to 14 points at the most. I also expect 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh to utilize wide receiver Randy Moss more tonight to open the lines for Frank Gore and the 49er running game.
Tonight’s game showcases two of the NFL’s best defenses and will surely be hard hitting. The 49ers seem to have a more productive offense to date and that will be the deciding factor in tonights results.
