I can’t say that I’m shocked that the Bears resigned Jay Culter, however I am surprised on the 7 year deal. The Chicago Bears have agreed to sign their quarterback Jay Culter to a 7 year deal in what I’m expecting is over $110 million dollars. Culter is now 30 and he does have a winning (39-28) record as a starter. Bears general manager Phil Emery made the announcement this morning, making the case that the Bears felt Culter was coming off his best year as a pro quarterback and that this was just his first year under new head coach Marc Trestman. Culter will cash in during his first three years making around $18 million per season for those first three years.

Culter has passed for nearly 15,000 as a Chicago Bear with 101 touchdown passes and 75 interceptions. Details are still being released on Jay Culter’s new deal so stay tuned to HHS1987 for more information.
