On Wednesday December 7th, ESPN held media sessions for the 2016 Home Depot College Football award finalists at the College Football Hall of Fame in downtown Atlanta. As many of the award finalists were preparing for a few days of celebrating their individual achievements for the 2016 College Football season, we caught up with Oklahoma Sooners wide receiver Dede Westbrook.
Dede Westbrook finished the game with 74 receptions, 1,465 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns for the Oklahoma Sooners during the 2016 season. Dede Westbrook is a finalist for the 2016 Heisman Trophy and he is nominated for the Biletnikoff Award for the Nation’s Most Outstanding Receiver.
During our interview with Dede Westbrook, he spoke on playing with fellow Oklahoma Sooners Heisman finalist Baker Mayfield and how Mayfield is the Sooners “LeBron James”. As the Sooners prepare to face Auburn in the Sugar Bowl on January 2nd, Westbrook spoke studying for their matchup after the awards and more.
