The 2016-17 NBA season is underway and things were rocking at Philips Arena here in Atlanta on Thursday night as the Atlanta Hawks opened the 2016-17 season against John Wall and the Washington Wizards.
Not only was Thursday night special with it being opening night, it was also Atlanta native Dwight Howard’s first official home game in a Atlanta Hawks uniform. Not only did Dwight Howard play big in his first home game at Philips Arena, the Hawks walking away with a victory to start the season (1-0). After being all tied up at halftime, the Atlanta Hawks make the proper adjustments at the half and a 33 point fourth quarter helped them defeat the Wizards (114-99).
Following the game, we caught up with the Atlanta Hawks for their post game locker room interviews. We spoke with Hawks stars Dwight Howard, Tim Hardaway Jr, Dennis Schroder, Malcolm Delaney on their (114-99) victory and more. Dwight Howard addressed his 19 rebound performance and the Hawks facing the 76ers on Saturday, Tim Hardaway Jr. addressed his big night off the bench scoring 21 points and Hawks point guards Dennis Schroder & Malcolm Delaney spoke on running the floor for the Hawks and how the teams chemistry is coming together.
