After weeks of playing it cool and saying that “Roman’s Revenge” was not aimed towards Lil Kim, Nicki Minaj sat down with Hot 97’s Angie Martinez to clear the air. Nick spoke with Angie about everything surrounding her career and even took questions from a studio audience.
She opened up on how attending an art school influenced her career, her trip to Trinidad and how she handled Lil Wayne’s absence. From there, the question of the hour came up (“Are you getting at Lil Kim?”) and Nicki kept it politically correct by saying, “It’s not directed toward anyone. Just all those that talked about me.” That quickly turned into, “My Barbies know exactly who that’s about. If you’ve never done or said anything, you wouldn’t feel guilty!” And from there, it really got things really got hectic.
“When I see your name on Billboard, then I’ll respond to you. If you are bitter, get a life! You’re gonna go down in history as a sore loser instead of the Queen. If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em. Don’t play with me. When I see it on the Billboard, that’s when I’ll respond.”
