The wait is over. Kim Kardashian has finally dropped her debut single, ‘Jam.’
Produced by The-Dream, the bass-heavy techno song made its debut during ‘On-Air with Ryan Seacrest’ today (March 2). Kardashian, admitted that she was nervous about premiering the track, and after taking a listen, the reality star has every right to be. Although the expectations may not have been high, her vocal ability (or lack thereof) is epic, made more bearable by the obvious use of Auto-Tune thanks to The-Dream and his producing partner, Christopher “Tricky” Stewart.
“I think it’s only normal for me to be nervous,” she told Seacrest. “I’m human. I never sang before. This was definitely something I don’t do. So for me to step outside of my comfort zone and do this, this is like a really big deal.”
Like her performance, the song’s lyrics are equally mediocre. “I’m goin’ out tonight, it’s going down/ Heading straight to the front of the line,” she sings. “On the fly, on the floor/I can’t stand still and I’m going to work like I’m paying my bills/My whole click is on the floor/We gonna party, then party some more (some more)/Rozay up in the air, feeling good, feeling great, and they plain’ my jam.”
To her credit, the 30-year-old socialite has no plans of turning her newest hobby into a full-fledged career choice. For her first time out the music gate, Kardashian is reveling in perks that new artists can only dream of. Aside from the top-notch production credits, Hype Williams also directed the video, which will feature an appearance from Kanye West.
All proceeds from ‘Jam’ will benefit the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
